Willingness, Worth and the Challenges (Oops Opportunities!)

Your sky for 15 August 2026

There are days when the sky offers you something, and days when it asks something of you. Today does both at once.

The Sun is in Leo, in its own domicile is dignified, unapologetic, at home. The Moon is in Virgo, quietly sorting and refining. And underneath that bright surface, a much slower conversation is unfolding between Juno and Pluto that will not resolve until November.

Let's take the gifts first.

Two benefics shake hands

Venus is dignified in her own sign of Libra, sextile Jupiter in Leo.

This is the greater and lesser benefic in opportunistic contact. Wherever Leo and Libra fall in your chart, those two houses are being introduced to each other on generous terms.

But a sextile is an opportunity, not a delivery. It is a door held ajar, not a parcel on the step. Sextiles reward the person who walks through them and do very little for the person who admires them from the hallway.

If you noticed yesterday that something felt more like an obstacle than an opening, watch it again today. The same situation often reveals itself as workable once Venus gets involved, not because the circumstances changed, but because you can suddenly see what you actually value in it.

Venus will go on to sextile each of the Leo planets in turn. Follow that thread. Connect to what is genuinely of value to you, what is authentic to you rather than what you have agreed to want. Those are the things that will yield something now.

You can't be at the gym and in front of the computer at the same time, unless, of course, you're doing an online class. In which case Mercury is delighted for you!

Mercury conjunct Jupiter: the thought that becomes the thing

Mercury meeting Jupiter in Leo is the mind meeting the sense of possibility.

This is the aspect that reaches the thought forms, the ideas that will actually bear weight when you put action behind them. Listen closely to what your mind offers you today, particularly the ideas that arrive uninvited while you're doing something else. In Leo, they come with Will attached, and Will is what turns an idea into an accomplishment.

The caution with Jupiter is always the same: it expands whatever it touches, including the unhelpful. Notice which ideas are large because they are true, and which are simply large.

Hygeia joins the conversation

Mercury is conjunct Hygeia, the health asteroid, and Jupiter is conjunct Hygeia too.

Matters of health stay highlighted, and the Sun in Leo shines directly on them. What's on offer here is less a prescription than a doorway: toward autonomy, toward being the author of your own wellbeing rather than a passenger in it.

Jupiter adds weight and broader context. If you have recently started a health regime, joined a gym, or changed something about how you eat, move or rest, the sky is currently expanding your sense of what that might involve. Be open to suggestions you didn't ask for. You don't have to adopt them. Just entertain them long enough to find the one that aligns with your own Will, because Leo will not sustain anything that someone else chose for you.

(As always: this is reflection, not medical advice. Your practitioner is the right person for the clinical questions.)

The long story: Juno conjunct Pluto

This is the one I want to sit with today.

Juno is moving retrograde away from Pluto, so relationships that have been contentious may ease a little. This is a second chance, and second chances have a shelf life. Use it.

Here is the shape of the next few months, as I read it:

  • 17 September: Juno stations, still within conjunction to Pluto.
  • 22 October: Juno ingresses into Aquarius at 0°, joining Pluto in the sign.
  • 6 November: Juno perfects her conjunction with Pluto.

Nothing is going away in the meantime. We are simply traversing more ground, and learning more, about a particular relationship, about our own underworld, and about whichever power structure in our lives is demanding our attention.

Find the house where Aquarius sits on the cusp in your chart. That is where this power play is happening. It has a great deal to do with your partner's position, (or your adversary's), inside the roughly twenty-year Pluto cycle.

Who these two actually are

Juno is the goddess married to Zeus-Jupiter. We call her the goddess of marriage, but that undersells her. Her defining quality is her attention to what is fair and right, in law, in justice, in the terms of an agreement.

So Juno meeting Pluto can look like a woman standing against male power. It can equally look like a marriage in which the lord of the underworld finally yields his knowledge up to the world, and everything changes as a result.

I don't want to overdramatise. But these are heavy players: a sky goddess and the god of the underworld, and between them, very strong willfulness between two equals, even if one or both of them feels vulnerable.

There's a nice historical rhyme here, too. Juno was classified as a planet after her discovery until she was demoted to asteroid. Pluto was a planet until Eris turned up and forced the question, and he was demoted to dwarf planet. Neither of them seems to have taken it personally. The energies of these bodies are entirely indifferent to our filing systems.

Aquarius changes the terms

In Aquarius, expect something genuinely different. This is not Capricorn's slow structural grind, it is sudden, collective, and unsentimental about precedent.

Pay attention to Uranus in trine to these two. Uranus brings awareness instantly. Once it arrives, a relationship dynamic can no longer be comfortably confused or ignored.

This aspect is not for the faint-hearted. If you are genuinely interested in accessing the deepest possible relationship with your spouse, or the deepest level of revelation and comprehension with your most powerful adversary, you will be asked to stand strong, feel deeply, and hold cognitive awareness of the undercurrents long enough to keep your balance. That is a real demand.

And if that is not for you right now, that is a legitimate answer. There are other pathways. You will most likely find that someone comes into your orbit who is living this out, and you can learn a great deal by watching how it plays out for them.

Looking ahead to 6 November

If you say you want something, be prepared to receive it. So: what have you actually asked for inside your closest relationship?

On that day in November, Mercury is conjunct the Sun in Scorpio so expect full exposure, of the deepest kind. Venus remains in Libra, though retrograde, with the Moon and the asteroid Selena also in Libra. Mars conjuncts Jupiter in Leo.

That is a day worth preparing for in advance rather than meeting cold.

It may also help to look backwards. What happened in your life when Pluto ingressed into Aquarius? Here are the dates to look at.  You’ll see we have until 2043 until Pluto actually departs from Aquarius next.  Plenty to learn and discover!

·         23 March 2023 - Pluto ingressed into Aquarius

·         11 June 2023 – Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn

·         21 January 2024 – Pluto ingressed again into Aquarius

·         2 September 2024 – Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn

·         20 November 2024 – Pluto ingressed finally into Aquarius

·         1 September 2043 – Pluto will leave Aquarius for Pisces

·         19 January 2044 – Pluto will retrograde back into Aquarius

Can you recall what was happening for you  March 23, January 24 and November 24? At the start of November 2024 Juno squared Pluto from the cardinal signs of Libra and Capricorn. Then Pluto ingressed, and Juno separated from the square by degree while remaining square by sign.

That was the opening of this chapter. This November is closer to its climax.

Sitting with it

I'm a counsellor before I'm anything else, and the value of a transit like this isn't prediction for its own sake, it's the quality of question it lets you ask. Some worth carrying this week:

  • Where in my life am I currently negotiating with power rather than relating to a unique individual?  We all have every planet, every sign and every House (and every point) in our charts!
  • What did I ask for in my closest relationship, and would I still ask for it today?
  • What am I calling a relationship problem that is actually a fairness problem?
  • If Uranus made one thing in this dynamic impossible to ignore, what would it be? (You almost certainly already know.)
  • What is genuinely of value to me here, as distinct from what I have agreed to value?

You don't need an answer to any of these. Noticing which one makes you uncomfortable is enough to be going on with.

Working with your own chart

We can plot the relationship between any two heavenly bodies we choose. Juno and Pluto simply caught my eye today because of how close they are.

I'll add one observation. Last night a YouTube channel broadcast a long discussion on female hormones and sexuality.  That’s the stuff of some of the deepest forms of relating, both with each other and about each other. That is a near-perfect example of the kind of timing this conjunction produces.

A fuller reading against your own natal chart will show you exactly where these energies are landing for you, and what is already in motion around 6 November. If you'd like to look at that together before November rather than after it, get in touch and book a one-on-one consultation.

Next article: we turn to relationships, Venus-style. Venus in Libra is dressed and ready for action - and Venus rules. Okay?
