Counselling Session
Counselling Session - 50 minutes
A calm, completely non-invasive space to get unstuck - and to begin remembering how capable you already are.
You might be here because something feels stuck. A worry that keeps looping. A decision that won't settle. A version of you that you can sense is there, just slightly out of reach. And underneath all of it, a quiet curiosity: could things actually feel different?
They can. And the fact that you're reading this means a part of you already knows it.
A counselling session is a warm, confidential, fifty-minute conversation where the focus is entirely on you - where you are now, and where you'd like to be. There's nothing to brace for, and nothing invasive about any of it. You stay fully aware and fully in control, and we simply work together, at your pace.
Tools chosen for you, not from a script
We draw on a range of well-established counselling approaches, and we choose between them based on what you want to achieve. Sometimes we'll pause and ask whether you'd like to try a particular technique - because the best tool is always the one that fits the person in the room. You can read more about several of these in our Articles section.
A few of the approaches we may draw on:
- Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) - At the heart of everything we do is the work of Carl Rogers, often called the father of modern counselling. He believed something we believe too: that you already carry within you everything you need to meet your challenges. The counsellor isn't here to fix you — there's nothing to fix. We're a partner in discovery and a steady guide, with some genuinely useful tools for the route ahead.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - gently loosening the grip of difficult thoughts and feelings, so you can move toward what truly matters to you.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - noticing the patterns in how you think, and discovering how a small shift there can change how you feel and what you do.
- Solution-Focused Therapy - spending less time on the problem and more on building the solution, using strengths you're already drawing on without realising it.
- Narrative Therapy - stepping back from the story you've been told, or have told yourself, and beginning to re-author it on your own terms.
- Gestalt Therapy - arriving fully in the present moment, which is so often where the real change quietly begins.
...and more. Within each of these sit simple, proven exercises that have helped a great many people - small tools you get to keep and use long after the session ends.
Curious about hypnosis, but not quite ready?
Some people feel a little nervous about hypnosis, and that's completely understandable. Choosing a counselling session first is a lovely place to begin. You'll gather a whole set of tools that live entirely outside the format of a hypnosis session, and yet you may notice they interchange quite naturally, because that's simply how our biology works. Hypnosis isn't something strange or separate; it's just a focused state of learning that every one of us drifts in and out of, every single day. When you're ready for it, it's there. And if you'd prefer not to, you'll still have everything you need.
Why we're called Counselling Confidence
Everything here points in one direction: your confidence in yourself. Most people arrive focused on the thing they're stuck on, and that's exactly where we start. But as that knot begins to loosen, something else tends to happen. You start to see your own value more clearly. You begin to glimpse abilities you haven't even started to use yet. Getting unstuck is just the beginning; what's on the other side of it is you, with a great deal more room to move.
A counselling session is a very good place to begin.
