Uranus – 8 years in Gemini - which House in your chart is Gemini?

Pluto – 20 years in Aquarius - which House in your chart is Aquarius? 

We've had over a year of this now, so it's time to revisit this for our current course navigation.  I hope you'll join me.  

At the end of this article you'll find your own Rising Sign with a short paragraph just for you! 

Transiting Uranus is Trine Transiting Pluto.  On a WORLDWIDE level this has been playing out with some big news.  Both have shifted into AIR SIGNS.  Both are OUTER PLANETS, which means what is taking place is affecting all of us all over the world.  It’s not always easy to comprehend how Astrology can operate on every level.  Read my previous article Astrology in Context article on counsellingconfidence.com.au, and check out the graphics there for some easy to view models. 

This week we are doing a bit of an overview for these two – just for you.  So you can work with these energies.  We can be confident in working with these larger energies of Uranus and Pluto, just as we work with those we consider closer to us, through Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars.

 

So let’s break down what we can now recognize more easily than we could a year ago when these guys entered their new AIR SIGNS. Hear me out.  Although it isn’t necessary to use the outer planets at all in attuned Traditional Astrological techniques, for me, and others, significant attention to the outer planets of Uranus, Pluto and Neptue are essential in several areas of Astrology, and can be used in some of the Traditional methods.

First, let’s check out Uranus and Gemini. What has this planet been up to? 

When a planet transits into a sign it is like it has decided to visit a friend’s house.  Not all friends can live together and every friend will have adjustments to make, especially when they have moved in for eight years!!!

 

 

Mercury rules Gemini.  Mercury ruling Gemini is different to Mercury ruling Virgo.  (More about that later.)

So Uranus is visiting Mercury in his Gemini House. 

Uranus is said to be the “higher octave” of Mercury in some esoteric astrology teachings.  (Church of Light CC Zain 1926, Sepharial 1918, Nicholas deVore 1947)

In The Church of Light astrological teachings :

• Mercury and Uranus are classified together as the intellectual planets
• Mercury governs perception, calculation, language and the outward expression of thought.
• Uranus governs the Individualistic Urges: independence, originality, invention and unconventionality
• Uranus carries throught beyond ordinatry sensory perception into intuition, inspiration, clairvoyance and occult understanding.
• Zain calls Uranus the Inspirational ESP planet
• Mercury’s keynote is PERCEPTION. Uranus’ is DISRUPTIVE

Ok.  There is some esoteric stuff for you.  Let’s bring this down to chewable chunks!

• Uranus = Sudden Insights.
• Mercury expresses these as “thoughts” we have.
• Uranus awakens us from habit.
• Mercury expresses this as movement and purposeful subconscious instruction for our behaviours. (Hypnotic language upon self from our own thoughts, or manipulation of the thoughts of others through advertising, self promotion etc.)
• Uranus provides ‘flashes’ of ‘knowledge’ that ‘feels right’ to us.  Those ‘aha’ moments.
• Mercury does the quick pivot.  Mercury can change in a second.  We get the ‘aha’ and nothing that was before is remembered because now we absolutely ‘know’, so act on that knowledge.  Mercury is really quick and he bores easily so he is really happy with the ‘aha’s’ !! ☺

Uranus, I would argue, corresponds to Chokma on the Kabbalistic model.  This is Wisdom and Higher Knowledge. 

Mercury is impulsive.  Keen for new ideas and things to mentally expose.  Mercury in Gemini is sharp logically, but logic isn’t always correct, even if cogent. 

Mercury's Virgo house will then take this information and break it down, test it against the manifested world.  Both are Mercury.  Mercury is dual.  Probably why it rules Gemini – the Twins. 

Mercury is the Magician, the God of Oaths (even though he was awarded this accolade after lying), and so much more to say about Mercury.  But let’s not digress.  I think you get the gist of what’s playing out in Gemini here now for the next seven or so years!

This relationship is so much fun for Mercury!  If you know any Gemini’s you’ll know that as soon as you spend too long explaining something to a Gemini or your friend with strong Gemini pacements, you lose them.  They’ve gone elsewhere! They are already travelling towards some new fun stuff.  So you’d think that Geminis would be in their element right now right?!  Actually, not so fast.  That depends upon how they can pull all the bits together with the manifestation process. 

And in some ways Rising Geminis, or Gemini strong individuals, can get superficial right now when confronted with these big demands upon them to go deeper and wider!  Yes, they have the ability - in droves!  But many are now being called upon to change their M.O.  They felt super able to handle so many things at once - now they are confonting something truly new for them.  Remember your sense of humour Geminis!  You are more than capable of adapting.  You're just a bit out of practice.  

Next:  Pluto in Aquarius.   Pluto and Saturn

Hmmm.  Aquarius is ruled by Saturn (Traditionally) and Uranus (as Co-ruler for some Modern Astrologers).   We’ve already looked at Uranus above so let’s move to Pluto working with Saturn here.

Pluto is the God of the Underworld.  Pluto is the Phoenix into the flames and coming out as the Spiritual Dove.

Pluto wants to transmutate and evolve us from harsh substances into something pure.  This might sound rather weird coming from the God of the Underworld, the domain of Hades mythologically. 

Where Uranus for some represents the ‘higher octave’ of Mercury, Pluto for some represents the Higher Octave of Mars.  But there is a twist.  For the Brotherhood of Light Astrologers Pluto is said to be the Higher Octave of the Moon herself.  And this may be where the Spiritual Dove comes into play.  I don’t want to get too esoteric in this article but it is nice to reflect on a WORLDWIDE CONTEXT how our current Transiting Pluto in Aquarius might actually offer each of us and all of us the precise energies we need to turn those things we all disagree with on a moral and humane level into something that is so spectacular that every one of us can say :  “Yes!  This is where we were headed all the time! And now we get to really LIVE together!  In complete calm and co-creative purpose!”   Does this sound too good to be true?  Interestingly, Astrologically, it is a given that we will accomplish this as long as we each have the intent to manifest it.  And it may be that’s all we need.  There are people in our World right now bringing this about in their own ways.  I’m sure you are doing the same in your way.  We can’t know all of these actions taking place.  Or can we?  That’s another topic. 

In Astral Vibrations, CC Zain explains what he means by a planetary octave.  Nature has seven fundamental families of influence, but three receive higher-frequency expressions:

Mercury – Uranus

Venus – Neptune

Moon – Pluto

“The domestic impulses are expanded to embrace a larger group”

The Moon’s domestic, receptive and formative function becomes Pluto’s forceful organization of people into groups.  Zain calls Pluto’s human thought-expression Universal Welfare (lesson 41)

Moon equals Domestic urges.      Pluto equals Universal-welfare urges.

However, for other Astrologers Pluto is the higher octave of Mars.  And certainly Pluto is said by many who practice Modern Astrology to co-rule Scorpio with Mars.

There is a lot in this Brotherhood doctrine.  But we aren’t dealing with the Moon here in Aquarius.  We are dealing with Saturn so how do Saturn and Pluto communicate together?  How does Pluto feel visiting Saturn in his house?

Saturn is SYSTEMS   Pluto as Higher Octave of the Moon and/or of Mars

Saturn MANIFESTS things into REALITY

Saturn is referred to as the Greater Malefic

Saturn is referred to as the Boundary Planet, Lord of this World of Manifestation.

Saturn is slow, patient, sometimes painful processing of something into a manifested structure.

Pluto is a bit different.  He doesn’t want to necessarily build Systems.  At least not in his Lower Pluto vibration that we witness in our manifested Reality of war and inequities today!

He wants to tear them down.  In his sojourn in Capricorn he also visited Saturn’s House.   But that was Saturn’s other house.  Saturn has two.  Capricorn and Aquarius.  In Capricorn Pluto visited the financial quarters, where Saturn builds piece by piece like the mountain goat.  2005 heralded in a key Pluto Transit through Capricorn with the GFC Worldwide event happening soon after in 2008! Pluto wants to pull down the structure, blow it up with a stick of plutonium, destroy the innocent to reveal the ignorant, and more.  Of course we know that Pluto is strategic.  Unfortunately, strategy from lower minds more often than not incorporates war, famine and slavery. 

Returning to Zain again, “The Lower Pluto forces are drastically insidious and destructive, the Upper Pluto forces are the finest and most spiritual of all.”

Constructively, Pluto produces committees, commissions, bureaus and specialised organisations that take responsibility for solving problems. Destructively, it creates coercive organisations, mob action, propaganda, [agnotology and nudging are good examples], suppression of facts and bitter struggles between rival factions. C. C. Zain, Cycles of Pluto and Neptune, Serial Lesson 142

So Pluto is not to be messed with it seems!

Pluto packed up his bags and left one of Saturn’s Houses for another.  But the two are not completely separated.  Astrologer Robert Hand spoke about how Houses ruled by the same planets (Traditionally) actually activate together through our lives, and even help each other move through whatever transits are triggering them at any time.  I’m paraphrasing here and you can do a search for Robert Hand’s youtube videos to find out more about how this works.

Look at this image below.  Notice the Roman Wreath.  Notice the Dove of “Higher” Pluto.  He is wounded but victorious.  This is perhaps the face of Pluto at its highest octave.  Maybe it incorporates the meaning behind Universal Welfare that Zain attributed to a higher Moon octave. (And interestingly the Moon sits below Pluto on the inner pillar in the designed kabbala interpretation provide above.)  But it also seems to me to incorporate the Martian impulse, as utilized at Mars’ highest energy for the good of every one of us.  The Roman Wreath is simply a SYSTEM, whose time is now over. To move past this system it is taking some Plutonic destructive energies. While those defenders of the system seek to manipulate it into something that still contains the seeds of inequity  hurriedly bomb, rape and subordinate others, manipulating Pluto doesn't work. 

Saturn rules Systems.  So Pluto in Saturn’s House is going to be an interesting visit.  In Capricorn They didn’t get on so well.  Saturn persisted and put up a good fight!  I don’t think they liked each other too much, although some powerful forces were at play we all suffered quite a bit around the whole world.  But even Saturn knew that the financial system was going to change and did in many ways lead and invite Pluto into the system in order to transform it into something that might follow it.  As they say, millionaires may not use astrology, but billionaires certainly do, and got rich from the Pluto sojourn in Capricorn as we are witnessing now.  But will they be able to pivot Pluto through Aquarius?  That's up to all of us, because they are also us. 

 

I hope I’m not getting too esoteric here but these are energies, so we are kind of speaking in physics and to do so we either use some esotericism or we use jargon from physics, as some Astrologers are able to do much more eloquently than me.  I know that Astrologer Rick Levine has more recently been more vocal about the Cosmos from a Physics perspective, and perhaps now that Pluto has moved to Saturn’s other house of Aquarius he has more visible supporting physics to manifest this discourse for us. 

We are in a manifesting time - the veils have lifted.

Astrology itself is going through so much right now.   We are really moving into a manifesting period.  With Pluto in Aquarius, and Saturn having to support two Houses, and with Uranus co-ruling Aquarius from Gemini, this whole paradigm can be somewhat ‘mind blowing’.  And, of course, this is where Hypnotherapy is so valuable to us at this time!  Astrology itself is very much aligned with Aquarius and with Mercury.  This is significant in a Structure that only allows a Pope to MEDIATE THE COSMOS through the Holy See, or Holy Roman Empire.  Astrologers have been historically manipulated, threatened, murdered and used by an Etruscan and then Papal Saturnian System of Heaven, Hell and Earth.  Right now this very structure appears to be threatening Astrology once more.  Which is perhaps why Pluto as the Dove is essential for all of us to comprehend right now.  Pluto as the vengeful strategist will not cut it in Aquarius.  Mars is Exalted Astrologically in Capricorn, but not in Aquarius. So Mars is also being asked to seek out his higher expressions also!  (That's for another article!) 

For your Rising Sign

What can you do about applying your own purposeful intent upon the World? 

Let’s move on to how this is playing out for each Rising Sign.  This magnificent period of time is already affecting some of your Houses specifically, with any triggered partner planets and signs joining in as supporting cast as you meander the events and people in your life right now.  

OK.  So now we have the setup.   How will this cosmic shift be affecting you now and what can you do about applying your own purposeful intent upon the World?  Because each of us does have the power.  Even if we are not aware of it.  What you do, or what you don’t do, is contributing to this enormously pivotal period in our long history and our long futures together.  So what are you destroying or discarding from your Life?  What are you building in your Life?  Where is the Wisdom of Uranus bringing you insights?  How is your Mercury putting in the extra (Mercury in Virgo) effort to truly honour these ‘aha’ moments in your life?  How are you incorporating new knowledge into your daily behaviours and habits? 

I am only going to mention this once, but Neptune in Aries, also in this Outer planetary configuration, is giving all of us the go-ahead to co-create something new!  Our hopes, dreams and wishes for a new earth or a new system, or a new whatever you want to call it, is now.

If you start making notes about the answers to these questions, then your story starts to open up for you.   What might seem like just an idea you can’t get out of your head but you haven’t fully engaged with may actually be pushing you in a direction that you will look back upon as having been not only a passing phase but a very concrete step towards what you always wanted anyway!

Uranus always operates through Human Agency, and it represents freedom and doing things your way!

Even though the events that are taking place in your life can seem overwhelming at times, even for a fast moving Mars Ascendant, by trusting your own intuition at this time many opportunities will be opening up for you.    You may have even flourished during the Pluto in Capricorn era from 2005-2025 but now it is time to move on.  Mars is exalted in Capricorn.  Not in Aquarius.  Time for you to get cracking on a new adventure!  You know you love a good challenge so take it Rising Aries!!! 

Although there is a lot of Air now, and maybe you don’t always trust your own ‘knowledge base’, which can be the case for some Fire element people who shift faster through inspiration than they do through book learning, now is a time when you will want to work with Mercury more and learn as much as you can about what you are inspired to move towards!  Check out your third house, sixth house and whichever house your natal Mercury is placed, to access some really useful information to assist you.

Moonchild you are already connected to so many Life sustaining and shifting impulses the last twelve months for you may have given you more direct access to a Cosmos you always knew was there waiting. :)

If you had any thoughts versus feelings dilemmas in the past this has been changing a lot for you.  Suddenly you are no longer relying on a manifested knowledge base contradicting what you stand for.  You have Uranus opening up the higher logic of the thought patterns.

Or, the thought of now being right, before you adapted to a world where only logic existed is now returning you to your Moon sensation roots of who you are. 

Either way this is an awesome period for you on this level of awareness.  Even the activation of your eighth house by Pluto may be a welcomed intrusion for you.

However, if you haven’t lived a life true to who you are then this may be full of events that bring you back to yourself, and these may be very difficult houses in which you will do this.  So these questions are asked of you with Love for your way of Being in the World today.  Because Sensitive Souls have not always been honoured as they should be in our history. 

• Can you imagine a world where your authentic self can be honoured and valued and even cherished by your friends and family?
• Are you receiving more insights through your dreams these days?  Are you remembering to write these down when you first wake up?  Your Mercury’s Virgo House of the third house of communication is a great link for you at this time, in order to ground while you navigate the events of your Life over the last year and the next several to come. 

If you have lost loved ones, encountered debts or gained inheritances, all these things may currently be sifting through what can sometimes feel like an overwhelm.  Pluto and Uranus working on these deeper levels for you right now, whether the events surrounding you are psychicly wonderful and emancipating or they feel otherwise, can take some time to perculate and transmute. 

If you asked yourself what is wonderful about being you, what answers will you come up with?  Do you remember what answers you would have come up with when you were at your happiest? 

You are not being asked to over-logify anything at this time, under these influences.  Merely to communicate with yourself on the deepest levels and hug your inner child with all the warmth and love you can realise for yourself. 

If you have already been involved in offering psychic services to others then this period will have enhanced your psychic abilities many times over.  And you will just be working through dealing with some elements of power and lightening insights into your current System, that may not be big enough to sustain your new found access codes.  So consider getting some assistance with how to better structure your business if this is in this psychic area.

If your Moon Rising Sign of Cancer has always been more about nursing others, or planets or other animals or whatever that is, then likewise, these deep influences will enhance these abilities and most likely bring in opportunities for new techniques that were previously hidden, or may still be hidden to the masses but become available to you for your use in nurturing.

These larger Transits are placing you firmly out there with many people right now and your hopes, dreams and wishes are front and centre!

Your values are currently under a microscope and you have some serious decisions to make about your finances and values.  If you can make sure you look after your second house of money and resources and value in ways that will support your eleventh house of hopes, dreams wishes and friends and groups and the greater populations, then your journey will locate a structure. 

Can you join with others to co-create a structure? 

Where is your Natal Saturn?  Saturn is about structure.  Pluto is breaking down the structure. 

Like the Tower card of the Tarot deck however, not everything is destroyed.  Inside what you have already built are the seeds that will ignite a new structure for you.

Leo on the First House comes with enormous responsibilities but you thrive on these.  Yes you do.  I don’t care how much you complain. You thrive on this sun-centred gift of a vessel that sustains itself through the roughest and the calmest waters.  You are self-heating, you could say, when you have a Leo Rising Sign.  You are the constant fixed fireplace that nurtures yourself and others.  Your flame endures.  Can you link this flame to the second house structure in Virgo, one of Mercury’s Houses?

Since Uranus is in Mercury’s Gemini House, and Mercury’s Virgo House is important for a link with Saturn’s Structure, being changed by Pluto currently, your key question might be:

• How can I truly serve everyone I know and those I don’t know yet? 
• Can I transform what I have already given my sunshine to grow into another structure to support me in order to support others? 
• Can I truly honour what I have accomplished so far?

Uranus in the Eleventh House can seem so much bigger to us than our First House, but actually our First House is Angular, and our Eleventh is succeedent, which means it leads to and supports our angular houses.  So remember that who you are is above the good you do, because the good you do must support the making of you, not replace it. 

All Leo’s know that they are the Centre of the Universe.  This can be a great gift not just to themselves but also to the rest of the world.  It is as if they must be gifted to be able to build their structures out of Joy and success in order to Shine for the rest of the world.

Rising Capricorn, for several years Pluto passed through your first house.  By now you must feel like you learned every possible lesson about the deepest power structures in your life and what having power yourself feels like. 

Now it is time for you to discard, change and build your resources in your second house.   But these changes cannot be anticipated and structured as your were able to work through in your first house.  These changes will be sudden and insightful.

Firstly, if you have any Capricorn Rising friends, now might be a good time to reach out to them.  They just got through and survived a Pluto in their Frist House!  Now it has been your turn since Pluto ingressed into Aquarius, your rising sign!

There is nothing easy about having Pluto in your first house.  So I won’t sugar coat this.  But, there is a great gift to be had!  You will be battling your own demons that no-one else can comprehend.  If you do this willingly then these demons will turn out to be angels you mistook for demons.  That’s the lower/higher nature of Pluto itself. 

There are things in you that you will lose now.  Or these will be attacked from outside forces.  Perhaps your friend to everyone will be revoked by someone who thinks you slighted them in the past, when you know in your heart you didn’t.  Perhaps you find yourself slighting others verbally when your Pluto pops out of your own mouth!  Then you shake your head wondering where that came from?!
